Rather than accepting the status quo, they decided to build something different; a platform designed to help local businesses thrive while keeping more money, opportunity and investment within the local economy.
Today, Ayrshire Hub brings together independent retailers, cafés, restaurants, takeaways, tradespeople, local services, community groups and events in one easy-to-use platform. Whether you're looking for a trusted local business, planning a day out, ordering a takeaway or wanting to discover somewhere new, the Hub makes it simple to support businesses that are part of the Ayrshire community.
The platform also includes a takeaway ordering service with a different approach to many national delivery apps. Instead of charging takeaway businesses high commission fees, Ayrshire Hub uses a customer platform fee for takeaway orders, helping local takeaway businesses retain more of what they earn while supporting the continued growth of the platform. It's just one example of Ross and John's commitment to creating a fairer way for local businesses to succeed.

Our Story
Our own journey has shaped that philosophy.
Sankah first began as a dream to create something beautiful; something that helped people fall in love with their homes all over again. But after the heartbreaking loss of our daughter, Isabella, everything changed.
Like many parents navigating grief, we found ourselves searching for purpose and a way to begin moving forwards while carrying our daughter with us. Returning to Sankah became part of that journey. It gave us something to build together again, a creative outlet for our grief and a renewed understanding of why this little business mattered.
We realised Sankah had never really been about wax melts or home fragrance. It was about creating atmosphere. About encouraging people to slow down in a world that constantly asks us to speed up. About helping people reconnect with the people and places they love, find comfort in familiar scents, enjoy peaceful evenings at home and create memories they'll look back on for years to come.
Today, every fragrance we create begins with a feeling rather than simply a scent. We don't ask, "What should this smell like?" We ask, "How should this make someone feel?" That's what guides every collection we release and every product we make.
That experience continues to shape every decision we make today.

Purpose is woven into the heart of Sankah. In memory of our daughter, Isabella, 20% of every Sankah sale is donated to baby loss and bereavement initiatives, helping to support families facing unimaginable loss. It's our way of ensuring that every order does a little more than fill a home with beautiful fragrance, it also helps support other families when they need it most.
